Lost moments
“Lost Moments” explores the concept of perdus, or lost moments in French, within analog photography. The work is the result of a fortuitous accident in which the camera and film became stuck, leading to the superposition of multiple captured moments. This accidental layering of images and places, sometimes spanning different countries, transforms the idea of “lost moments” into a new and compelling form of artistic expression.
“Lost Moments” challenges the conventional notion of photography as a means of capturing singular moments in time. Instead, it highlights the potential for unexpected beauty and meaning that can emerge from mistakes and technical accidents. The result is a fusion of past moments and places that, having failed to be captured as intended, give rise to a new and unique visual language, inviting reflection on the interconnection of time, space, and the serendipity of imperfection.
